Who we are

Astrodamus (astrodamus.net) is owned by Polite Moose Limited, Rm 7B, One Capital Place, 18 Luard Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The company is the data controller for your personal data.

The short version

Charts are calculated in your browser. Birth data never reaches our server unless you save a chart to your profile.
We don't sell data, don't show ads and don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
You can delete your profile with all its charts at any time.

What data we process

Without an account. Saved charts, settings and language stay in your browser's storage (localStorage) on this device. We never receive them.

When you create an account:

email and password (the password is stored only as a one-way hash);
optionally: full name and country;
the version of the terms you accepted.

When you sign in with Google we receive your email and name from Google.

Your profile holds your saved charts (name, birth date, time and place, notes, life events, folders), your "my chart" mark and settings (theme, mode, language).

Morning notifications. If you turn them on, the server receives your browser's push subscription, time zone and chosen hour. Your phone calculates the forecast itself.

Calendar subscription. Your birth date, time and place are encrypted inside the subscription link. The forecast is calculated on the server when the calendar asks for it, and nothing is stored.

Technical data. When you open the site, the Cloudflare network processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect against attacks.

Why

To run your profile: sign-in, syncing charts between devices, password recovery.
To send notifications and update your calendar, if you turned them on.
To protect the service from abuse.

Legal bases under the GDPR: performance of a contract (the Terms of Use) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure. Notifications rely on your consent, which you can withdraw by turning them off.

Where data is stored and who processes it

Profile server: in Hungary (EU), operated by us.
Cloudflare, Inc. delivers the site and handles requests to the server. Data may pass through its servers in several countries, including the US.
Google is involved only if you sign in with Google.
Browser push services (Google, Apple, Mozilla) deliver notifications if you turned them on.
Password-recovery emails are sent by our own mail server.

We don't share data with any other company unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Profile data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, the profile and all charts are deleted immediately.

Your rights

You can access, correct, delete and export your data (menu "Export all charts"), and object to processing. Use "Manage profile" or write to [email protected]. We reply within 30 days.

If you believe your rights have been violated, you can complain to a supervisory authority. In Hong Kong this is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data. In the EU, contact the data protection authority of your country.

Other people's data

If you save charts of relatives, clients or friends, make sure you have the right to enter their birth data.

Children

The service is not intended for children under 16. We don't knowingly create accounts for them.

Changes

We will announce significant changes to this policy on the site. The version date is at the top of this page.
