Calculation settings Pro

By default Astrodamus calculates like ZET 9: tropical zodiac, Placidus houses, true lunar node, mean Lilith. You can change all of it under “More → Calculation”. The settings go into the link and the saved chart, so a shared link opens with the same settings.

House system

Placidus, Koch, Regiomontanus, Campanus, Porphyry, equal from ASC, equal from MC, whole sign, Topocentric, Alcabitius, Morinus, Meridian (axial), Krusinski.

Above the polar circle, Placidus and Koch sometimes can't be built. The chart then falls back to equal houses from the MC, and the “Houses (…)” heading tells you which system was used.

Zodiac

• “Tropical” (default): 0° Aries at the spring equinox.
• “Sidereal, ayanamsa”: the zodiac is tied to the stars. Options: Lahiri, Fagan/Bradley, Raman, Krishnamurti, Yukteshwar, True Chitrapaksha, Galactic Center at 0° Sagittarius, Aldebaran at 15° Taurus.

In sidereal mode, the info line above the wheel shows the ayanamsa, for example “sidereal, ayanamsa Lahiri 23°36'39"”.

Some sections always stay tropical because the method itself is built that way: Avestan data and aphetics, the almanac, the day picker, time totems, the Trutine and the density method. Primary directions work in right ascension, so the zodiac doesn't matter to them. Jyotish always uses Lahiri.
