Profections and firdaria

Two classical time-lord techniques. Both answer the question: which planet runs this year of your life?

Profections

Each year of life, the Ascendant moves one sign forward. The 1st house is active in the birth year, the 2nd at age 1, and the 1st again at 12. The ruler of the active house's sign becomes the lord of the year.

The section shows:

• the current year: age, start date, house, sign and lord of the year, with a short interpretation;
• a table of neighboring years, five back and five ahead.

Example: at 44 the sample chart activates the 9th house (Taurus), so Venus is the lord of the year.

Firdaria

Life splits into planetary periods totaling 75 years, and then the cycle repeats. The order depends on whether the chart is diurnal or nocturnal:

• diurnal: Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, North and South Nodes;
• nocturnal: Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, North and South Nodes.

Each period splits into 7 sub-periods in Chaldean order, starting with the period's ruler. The nodes have no sub-periods.

The current period and sub-period are shown in bold at the top, with interpretations. Below is a timeline up to age 90, with the current period expanded into its sub-periods.
