Rectification Pro
If you know the birth time only roughly, you can narrow it down. Astrodamus has two methods for that. Both give you a candidate to check; the call is yours.
Trutine of Hermes
An ancient rule: the Moon at conception sits on the birth Ascendant, and the Moon at birth sits on the Ascendant of conception. The app finds the prenatal epoch (about 10 sidereal months before birth) and suggests a birth time that satisfies the rule.
- Build the chart with the approximate time.
- Open “Rectification: Trutine of Hermes”.
- “account for the horizon (latitude and lunar parallax)” is on by default. Leave it on.
- Click “Calculate”.
You get the “Birth time by Trutine of Hermes”, the epoch date, the gestation length in days (average 273.2) and the Moon's phase at the epoch. “Apply to chart” puts the time into the form. Below is a table of solutions found from different starting points.
Density method
The method tries birth times one by one and, for each, measures how much the planets of the forecast charts for your event dates cluster on the Asc, MC and natal planets.
- Open “Rectification: density method”.
- Enter events one per line as
DD.MM.YYYY HH:MM ±hours, for example28.07.1983 12:00 +4. Or click “Fill from life events”. - Tick the methods (transit, progression, solar and lunar returns, other returns, directions and more) and give each a weight from 0 to 1.
- Set the search window: “from (min relative to chart time)”, −30 by default, and “range, min”, 60 by default. That checks from 30 minutes before to 30 minutes after the current time.
- Click “Calculate”.
More events with exact times give a more reliable answer. Five to ten events from different years usually produce a clear peak.
