Neptune Conjunct Midheaven
Neptune on the Midheaven ties your calling to dream, creativity and service. Your path inspires others, though you yourself search a long time for its form.
In the Birth Chart
Your professional life has to have meaning; stability alone isn't enough. You're drawn to art, music, film, spiritual and helping fields, anything that touches people deeply. Your public image can be enigmatic: those around you project their dreams onto you, and your reputation may take shape almost mythically. It's not easy for you to settle on a career; the path sometimes seems foggy and goals blur. But when you find work you believe in, you can inspire many and leave a noticeable mark in your field.
Relationships
Your career and dreams strongly affect your personal life, and it matters that your partner shares your ideals. The image of one of your parents may have been idealized or unclear. In the family you need support in your search for meaning, not just with practical matters. It's important not to sacrifice relationships for work that feels like a mission.
Work and Money
Creative professions, media, charity, psychology, and spiritual and social projects suit you. You can create an image that touches an audience. Difficulties may arise with money, contracts and clarity of goals, so it helps to have a practical partner or manager who helps keep structure, count the money and meet deadlines.
Strengths
- The ability to inspire people with your work, ideas and personal example of service
- A creative instinct that helps create images and meanings for a wide audience
- A readiness to serve a cause larger than personal interests and gain
Pitfalls
- Foggy career goals and a long search for your professional path
- A risk of misunderstandings over reputation, rumors or vague obligations at work
- A tendency to sacrifice yourself for a cause that doesn't return the favor
How to Work With It
Describe your calling in words, at first briefly and imprecisely, and return to that wording every few months. Break the dream into concrete steps. Check contracts and promises carefully, and bring in practical people. Protect your reputation with clarity and honesty. Then your inspiration gets a foothold and turns into a lasting professional path.
